Eva Longoria leans on 'Desperate Housewives' costars

(PEOPLE) -- After filing for divorce  from Tony Parker, "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria was back on the set of her ABC show -- where she's getting the support of her castmates.

"Everyone is being very sympathetic to Eva's situation," a source tells PEOPLE. "Work has to go on -- but the whole set is very protective of Eva."

Adds the source: "Everyone tried to make sure yesterday that filming went as smoothly as possible."

According to a friend of the actress, she's "devastated" after discovering Parker had been carrying on a text message relationship for months with Erin Barry, wife of his former teammate Brent Barry.

"She is simply heartbroken," the friend tells PEOPLE. "She really wishes Tony the best. She just wants this whole situation to be as peaceful as it can be under the circumstances. He's a good person at heart, and she wants the best for him."

Helping her through the ordeal: a solid support system, including some of her "Desperate Housewives" costars.

"She has a group of girlfriends she's very close to that are helping her," Longoria's friend says. "She's also very close to her family. And the cast of 'Desperate Housewives' have been wonderful, especially Marcia [Cross] and Felicity [Huffman], [who] are there for her through this."

Also, the affair that Parker had with Alexadra Parressant apparently took place completely at Parker's computer.

But the saddest part of the story is that we find out the real reason the marriage dissolved: Eva Longoria refused to wear pearl necklaces. You have to draw the line somewhere I guess.

These videos are great to highlight the vast difference in interpretations of our daily news. Seen in the Taiwanese light they look ridiculous, maybe that's because they really are.

Eva Longoria Tony Parker Sext Scandal: What Went Wrong?

It appears that the Eva Longoria-Tony Parker sext scandal will, in all likelihood, result in a divorce between the famous couple. But what happened, exactly, to cause the split?

According to a report in Us Weekly, it was Parker who was the impetus behind the pair's likely split.

The report claims that Parker had been romantically involved with a mutual female friend of the couple for almost a year, and had been sending her text messages on a regular basis.

Parker had sent the other woman hundreds of texts over the course of a single month, Us claimed, and Longoria had, inevitably, found them on his phone.

According to a friend of the couple's, when Longoria approached Parker about the transgressions, he confessed.

Parker's reps claim he's dedicated to saving the marriage, but according to People magazine, the Spurs guard may not get the chance. The gossip magazine claims that Longoria plans to file the paperwork soon in Texas, and that she may do it as soon as Wednesday.
