Fashion Faceoff: Taylor Swift vs. Katie Holmes

It's time for another style showdown! A country singer who almost always nails her look on the red carpet and a chic actress known for her sophisticated wardrobe were caught wearing the same backless Contrarian New York dress in different shades more than a year apart. Question is ... who wore it better?

"Mean" songstress Taylor Swift, 21, donned a lavender version of the frock in April 2010 as she caught Brooks & Dunn's Last Rodeo Show in Las Vegas. The budding fashionista paired her look with silver peep-toe slingbacks by Christian Louboutin.

Mrs. Tom Cruise, however, sported the dress in classic midnight blue last month at the Los Angeles Film Festival's screening of her movie "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark." The 32-year-old completed her ensemble with nude T-strap stilettos by Lanvin.

This fashion faceoff is a tough one. Both ladies showed restraint by keeping their accessories to a minimum, which allowed the pretty dress to speak for itself. And both chose a color more suited to their individual personality. Unfortunately, only one woman can win this battle and, for me, that woman is Taylor. The curly-haired star stood out because she looked as glam as the princesses she sings about in her songs, while Katie just seemed a little ... plain. Do you agree?
